American Scenes [Slide show]

Sumbat visited the United States for the first time in 1976, when an exhibit of his paintings was organized by the Armenian General Benevolent Union in Hollywood, California. In 1980, Sumbat and Arax permanently moved to California to be close to their children who were settled there. They first lived in Berkeley, but later moved to Glendale where Sumbat opened his Art Studio in October 1981. Sumbat traveled, painted and exhibited in many parts of the United States. His favorites were the Pacific coast and Yosemite National Park.
